Times Of Refreshing

We all need times of refreshing. This is God's desire for us both individually and corporately. He is the God of all comfort and will revive you by His Spirit.

Where Sin Abounds

Rom 5:20 NKJV - Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,

My son is not yet fully potty trained. Sometimes he fails to poop in the potty. We never reward him for not pooping in the potty, and as long as he is still willing to recognize that he needs to poop in the potty we gently correct him and clean him up for a fresh start. If he says "I will not poop in the potty." then we correct and discipline him. We know that eventually he will be potty trained.  It would be very strange for us to consider him potty trained if he wasn't. It would be even stranger for us to ignore when he poops in his pants and say he is clean. When we willfully remain in sin and believe we are OK with God we are not receiving His grace but ignoring it.

Folks, it is paramount that we realize that we are not bound to sin any longer. The grace of God does not afford us a free pass, but a free change. We are transformed through the work of grace and no longer slaves to sin. We cast off sin by the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. When we continue in sin, as if there is no option to overcome, we degrade the power of the cross to some future by and by instead of appropriating the truth and applying it by faith. Grace overcomes sin and washes us clean.

Corporately Desiring The Fullness

You Are God's Delight

Delight is the root of desire. In other words we will desire whatever it is we delight in. Delight is what puts a smile on our faces, what keeps us going through the tough times. It is the stuff of imaginations and inventions. When we delight in something or someone we place value on them. Our delight produces desire. We desire to be with someone or to be somewhere. Our fantasies always carry us into what we delight in and will fuel our desire to bring that imagination into reality. We will become what we delight in.

You are God’s delight. Even before the first man was created, the imagination of God’s heart was upon you. He allowed you to be intricately woven through His being until His love for you produced the insatiable desire to create you. He formed you and fashioned you in pleasure for pleasure. His smile was upon His creation. He prepared all of creation before you, to set you in it as a gift, your playroom. Name the animals, tend the garden, tell me what you discover, I love you, I delight in you. You do not abandon what you delight in.

All sin is misplaced delight. This is why God cannot sin, He is the source of all delight and pleasure. When our delight is in the creation rather than the creator we seek to please ourselves at the expense of our own pleasure. Like the blind leading the blind we both fall into a ditch. Eve delighted in the forbidden fruit, Adam delighted in his wife, Cain delighted in jealousy, and all of mankind has struggled to find peace outside of God. Yet God has never given up on His delight. He has longed for your fellowship, your companionship. If you have wondered what is on God’s mind, it is you. All of His thoughts are consumed with passion and delight for your affections. He has desired you so much that He has become like you, yes He put on your flesh, the body of death. so He can overcome all things for you.

Just believe in me. This is the cry of God in Jesus. I can and will lead you out of your trouble, your struggle. He knows your pain, He felt it and still feels it. He knows the temptation you feel in your flesh. He knows the imaginations of your mind, how they war against what is truly good. He knows why you are deceived and led astray by the enticement of the flesh. He can bring you into victory, He can bring you into true happiness.

You have been in love with death for so long that you do not even recognize life. You have desired the “pleasures” of darkness for so long that the light is an annoyance to you that just hurts your eyes and you shrink back from his love turning back into your sin thinking you have no power to overcome. You have even turned the love of God into a lie and made Him a taskmaster instead of your deliverer.  You claim your fleshly birth rights found in the desire of the flesh and mind while ignoring the change and power afforded you by God in Christ Jesus through being born again of His Spirit.

God is calling you to delight in Him. To behold His neverending love for you. To be washed in the power of His strong desire for you. Only turn and believe. He is weeping over your sin. He is calling you to repent because true delight is only found in Him. He created you for His own pleasure, and His great delight is to keep you safe, secure and happy. He is the only One who can give you the desire of your heart. He does not add trouble to His gifts. Peace and joy are yours in Him. Stop chasing the darkness. Come out of hiding and let the light of His glory rest upon you so that you will be ever living in His joy.

One with God

The intent of all that is written is to bring the full and perfect manifestation of the writer. The writer is seeking to be known and to be loved for what is revealed through the expression of their self. Yet their true self is only visible through what they express. This expression even in the most perfect form is still generally misunderstood. Jesus is the Word become flesh and think about how many different ways He is perceived. The writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is “... the express image of His person…” and Jesus Himself tells Philip “...He who has seen Me has seen the Father…”.

Deeper than the expression is the intent of the heart. Paul says this deep understanding to be found in the spirit when he writes “...the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.”. The intent or spirit can only be touched in unity, oneness. This is scarcely touched, but when it is it cannot be misunderstood because it lacks nothing in its communication. This is where you are being called to as Jesus prayed “"And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one…”

Most of us are not even “one” within ourselves (which produces confusion) let alone One with God in Christ Jesus. We do not even know how to present a correct expression of our intent but instead project fantasy based on the stimuli of imperfect observations and circumstances. God is not like this. He is perfectly ONE. When we behold His Word (Jesus) we behold Him. When we receive His Spirit we become ONE with Him. I like to call this pure & unbroken fellowship. The technical connection may have been made upon seeing Jesus, and inviting Him into your “heart”, but many of us claiming Christ as our savior live in a way that defrauds the cross of its true value.

We are entering into so much more than the forgiveness of sin. We are also doing much more than gaining citizenship to the Kingdom of God. Though both of these are true they are actually by-products of something greater. Our true destination is not forgiveness or a Kingdom but oneness. The literal intertwining of our spirit with the Spirit of God. As we truly embrace this weaving we will become entirely like Him. For if our sin is only washed away we will simply go get dirty again, and if we are only citizens of a Kingdom we are only servants to the king, but if we are One with Christ as He is one with the Father we will no longer sin and we won't need any law for it will truly be written upon our heart. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. - Jhn 8:36 NKJV

Saved from Fire

My son loves to do things he is not supposed to do. One of his current favorite activities is to disturb fire ant mounds. A dangerous hobby indeed, and unfortunately our yard is like a mine field with mounds in nearly all directions and not far apart. Now when we are out back my wife and I must keep a constant eye on our wobbly explorer and have a keen awareness of the proximity of all mounds. Not an easy task and it makes it difficult to accomplish anything besides directing our son away from these disaster sites. The thing is, when we tell Levi to watch out for the fire ants or to quit bothering a mound he will stomp his foot and tell us no. He will listen but he does love to protest. He has no understanding of the danger he is playing with and somehow sees our instructions as getting in the way of his good time, when all the while we are only protecting him from the fire ants.

Now consider the commands of the Lord. How many times do we consider the Lord’s instruction a hindrance to our good time? We even go as far as to believe that we do not need to heed the commandments of God because we are not under law but grace. Yet the things we call “religious” are protecting us from the fire. If we would only listen, we would be spared many troubles.

He Has Made A Way

"let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." - Act 4:10-12 NKJV

Love is found by believing Jesus will make you whole and apart from Jesus no one is whole. True love washes sin away. The price Jesus paid in death is to bring you into life, a life free and whole, preserved blameless in spirit, soul and body until His return. Get to know Him today. On this day over 2000yrs ago He was in the belly of the Earth getting the keys to death so you can live. He is still opening the prison doors today and calling you by name into His abundant life.

Much of what we are calling freedom today is actually bondage. We are addicted to a life of feeling good about ourselves. We are lovers of pleasure, not lovers of God. We do not build upon the foundation of the cross of Christ, but upon the foundation of so-called liberty. Listen closely. Liberty must have a foundation that is greater than your understanding of right and wrong. Our reasoning is limited, we have limited understanding, our knowledge is limited, all of our science is limited, nothing is concrete. God calls us in Isaiah to come and reason with Him. His reasoning is that we will be forgiven and washed clean if we come to Him. Instead of living a life that is built upon your own reasning, build a life built upon Gods' reasoning, and all the wisdom of God is fully displayed in the cross of Christ.
